ITALIAN CAPITAL TO HOST EFTTEX 2008

The beautiful and historic Italian capital is set to welcome EFTTEX 2008. Rome, steeped in history and atmosphere will host the 27 th EFTTEX from the 13th – 15th June 2008.
EFTTEX, the long established European trade show with a proven track record and a distinct international flavour will be held at the recently opened Fiera di Roma located only 5 minutes from Rome’s Fiumicino international airport and just 20 minutes from the city centre. A metro line services the airport, exhibition centre and city centre for convenient access to both exhibitors and visitors alike.
Spectacularly, Fiera di Roma boasts halls with no pillars, a generous floor to ceiling height and more than 2,000 car parking spaces. Rome has plenty of “tourist appeal”, 91,000+ hotel rooms, restaurants galore, good value for money with an international transport hub offering direct flights to most worldwide cities.
The decision regarding Rome as a venue was based on feedback from EFTTA members on convenience and accessibility to venues as well as recommendations from the board taking into account the need to target more retailers and key buyers.
Janet Doyle, EFTTA General Manager is excited about EFTTEX returning to Italy. By the time June 2008 comes around it will be 6 years since the show was in a southern European city. In anticipation of concerns on VAT and security we sought expert advice on VAT and discussed security in depth with the venue. EFTTEX must register in Italy for VAT and charge local VAT on stands in the same way we have done for Prague and Brussels. Companies registered in any EU member country as well as those registered in Switzerland and Norway will be able to reclaim VAT.
The onsite security firm will provide the highest level of security and in addition to the surveillance already in place there will be extra security around the show.
Lelio Nahum, current EFTTA President is delighted that EFTTEX 2008 will take place in Rome. EFTTEX attracts more Italian exhibitors than any other country and he looks forward to welcoming new and existing exhibitors and visitors based nationally and internationally.
Gregg Holloway, future EFTTA President confirms the key to continuing EFTTEX’s success lies with hosting a strong trade show. To do this we must listen to participant feedback and at the same time enhance the show’s vitality and strength, an important factor in this competitive world of shows.
