EFTTEX GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH: NEW FIGURES REVEAL

EFTTEX, Europe’s leading fishing tackle trade exhibition, continues to go from strength to strength, reveal five-year figures released recently by organisers EFTTA.
EFTTEX takes place in Budapest next year, on June 12-14, and if recent trends continue it is expected to be one of the largest annual shows ever staged by EFTTA, the European Fishing Tackle Trade Association.
In Rome this summer, EFTTEX 2008 attracted 3,283 industry professionals – including exhibitors, guests, visitors and Press – a 4% increase on 2007. This followed annual increases of 8%, 3% and 11% since EFTTEX 2004 in London.
Occupied floorspace has also grown every year in the last five years, from 5,535m2 in 2004 to an impressive 7,309m2 in Rome – a 32% increase over the period. Individual year-on-year floorspace increases since 2004 are 14%, 4%, 9% and 2%.
EFTTA CEO, Jean-Claude Bel, said: “These figures underline the fact that EFTTEX is the best trade show to attend and continues to be the premier place in the industry to exhibit, meet clients and customers and promote new products to the angling media.
“We carried out a recent fact-finding mission to Budapest and everything is in place there to make EFTTEX 2009 even bigger and better than this year. Our ongoing commitment to making the show a success every year - and ensuring that it delivers results - is clearly appreciated by the trade.
“We are delighted with the last five years’ figures. It shows that EFTTEX is healthy and that is vitally important for the European fishing tackle trade.”
Some of the tackle industry’s biggest names have already confirmed their attendance at the renowned Hungexpo venue in Budapest next year, proving once again that EFTTEX is Europe’s only ‘must-attend’ tackle show and the largest fishing tackle trade exhibition this side of the Atlantic.
