Vote for Board members at the AGA
Members are encouraged to attend the EFTTA Annual General Assembly (AGA) to hear the President’s Report and vote on the re-election of four Board members. One new Board member will also be appointed following the resignation of the Italian representative, Ermanno Adinolfi.

Italian drift ban under scrutiny
The European Commission has confirmed that it has had the enforcement of the driftnet ban in Italy under scrutiny. The Commission says that it has conducted four inspections in the last year – the latest being between May 9th and 13th.

Angling Trust staff clean up
Staff at an Angling Trust and Fish Legal office in England have been collecting rubbish as part of a project to spring clean 100 miles of a famous Midlands river. Workers in the Leominster, Worcestershire, office collected 100 bags of rubbish from the River Lugg.

Plastic bag ban under review
The European Commission is considering a tax or ban on plastic bags as it seeks the public’s views on how to reduce their use and fight pollution. The Commission called for suggestions on how to deal with the billions of bags used in the European Union (EU) each year but that take hundreds of years to decompose.

Don’t miss the Awards closing date
EFTTA would like to advise EFTTEX exhibitors wishing to enter products into the Best New Product Awards that the closing date is fast approaching. Entries must be received by EFTTA by Friday May 20th. If you have not yet entered your products, please do not hesitate to contact EFTTA.
