2009 trade statistics available to members
The 2009 trade statistics are now available on the Members Section of the EFTTA website. The figures look at the value of the world import and export markets in fishing tackle throughout the world. The same valuable information for 2010 and 2011 will be uploaded before the end of the year.

EAA General Assembly puts weight behind EFTTA video
The influential European Anglers Alliance (EAA) has hit out at the slow pace of progress of the implementation of the Water Framework Directive – in particular with regard to eliminating or reducing the damaging effects of hydropower on river ecosystems.

EAA to act against threat of invasive species
The EAA is to encourage anglers to take more care to help stop the spread of invasive species.Its General Assembly, attended by EFTTA, discussed the growing threat to the aquatic environment from Invasive Alien Species (IAS) and heard that the EU Commission is currently working on a dedicated legislative document that will be adopted later this year.

ASA hits out at US fisheries conservation cuts
The American Sportfishing Association has (ASA) has hit out at its Government’s shock decision to cut $34 million from the national budget that supports fisheries conservation.

The floorplan for EFTTEX 2013 is to be released soon. Companies who wish to receive a copy as soon as it becomes available should contact Neena Tailor immediately and they will be added to the waiting list. Neena said: “We expect the available booths to be taken up quickly so I would advise anyone wishing to book to contact me prior to the floorplan being released so they are among the first to receive it.”

Two new members of staff have joined the EFTTA team – Victoria Rogers and Bhumika Mistry.
