EFTTA WELCOMES NEW PRESIDENT & BOARD MEMBER
Gregg Holloway and Pierangelo Zanetta take up key positions at EFTTA
EFTTA – the European Fishing Tackle Trade Association – has a new president at the helm, Gregg Holloway.
At EFTTEX 2007 in Prague in June, Gregg began his three-year tenure as head of the influential organisation, which promotes sportfishing and international business and campaigns on environmental angling issues.
The Managing Director of established UK tackle manufacturer, Hopkins & Holloway, Gregg was previously EFTTA vice president. He takes over from retiring president Lelio Nahum.
Said Gregg: “The EFTTA board boasts some very capable people and it is our aim to move the association forward, so it becomes much more proactive.
“Over the next three years I, and the board, will be working to strengthen our relationship with all the national tackle trade associations. Strength comes from being united and we have received tremendous support from the American Sportfishing Association and I have had excellent discussions with the Australian Fishing Tackle Association.”
Meanwhile, the EFTTA board has been strengthened with the appointment of Pierangelo Zanetta, Managing Director of Shimano’s Fishing Division for Europe-Africa and the Middle East.
Fifty-three year old Pierangelo was born in Naples and attended the Politecnico of Milan where he graduated as a chemical engineer specialising in synthetic fibres.
His first job was with Browning Italy as Product Manager and within five years was promoted to Italian Sales Director for Fishing, Hunting and Sport activities, then European Product Manager and finally European Managing Director of the Fishing Division.
He joined Shimano Europe in 1994 as Product Manager before being appointed to his current position in 2001.
Fluent in both English and French, Pierangelo also has a working knowledge of Portuguese and Spanish. His hobbies include fishing and photography and he enjoys progressive rock music and classical ballet.
