Spro seals deal to distribute Dynamite Baits
EFTTA member companies Spro B.V. and and Spro Deutschland GmbH have been appointed exclusive distributors of Dynamite Baits in Benelux and Germany respectively.

Abel Reels appoints Sharpe's in the UK
Abel Reels has appointed EFTTA member Sharpe's of Aberdeen as its exclusive agents in the UK and Ireland. The California company, famous for its fly reels and customisation service, believes the move will help it "properly increase" sales with authorised dealers in the two markets.

Matt Hayes joins Guideline
Top angler, broadcaster and journalist Matt Hayes has joined Scandinavian fly fishing company and EFTTA member Guideline in a consultancy role, focusing initially on the UK. Hayes, who writes for the UK's leading fishing publication, Angling Times, spends a good part of the year living and fishing in Norway, the home of Guideline AS, which was sold last year by Nordic Outdoor to Woyen Forvaltning AS, owned by the Myhre family.

EFTTEX bookings up by 30 per cent
EFTTEX bookings are up more than 30% on this time last year, suggesting confidence is returning to the tackle industry – and vindicating EFTTA’s decision to take EFTTEX to Spain for the first time in its history. The floorplan for the 2010 show, set for Valencia between 11th and 13th June, has just been published. It shows an increase in space sold of 796 sqm over this time last year.

EFTTA ‘will be a stronger lobbying power in 2010’
EFTTA has strengthened its position as a political force within the European Union, says the Association’s lobbyist Jan Kappel. Successes during the past 12 months have ‘added to EFTTA’s political power,’ adds Kappel, meaning it can better protect the interests of the industry in 2010.

The largest angling franchise company in Europe is planning to accelerate its growth in 2010. Germany-based Fisherman‘s Partner, an EFTTA member company, believes it is at the forefront of a retail revolution and is actively seeking retailers to join its partnership.

EFTTEX ‘is the key to new business’ says trade
EFTTEX has come out on top of a major survey into the 2010 marketing strategies of international manufacturers. In the survey conducted by Angling International magazine, half of the respondents declared EFTTEX to be essential for generating new business next year.
