One of Angling Spirit’s key initiatives is the before and after event beach and shoreline clean-up. At the end of each event all competitors must bring all their rubbish to the collection point and dispose any fishing tackle correctly. Locals are encouraged to join cleaning the shoreline by removing any debris and any other discarded waste. These actions help raising awareness, with wonderful moments where event competitors and local population with children work together to do their part to keep the shores clean. In two years, Angling Spirit clean-up teams collected 52 tonnes of coastal litter across Europe.
