EFTTA has acted to clear up confusion over VAT payments for exhibitors taking a booth at EFTTEX in Hungary.

Following advice from the Hungarian authorities pro-forma invoices were sent out to companies taking booths at the show in Budapest and included 27% VAT. However, following further discussions with the authorities it now appears that exhibitors from all countries – except the UK – are exempt from the charge as the Reverse Charge Mechanism applies.

Refunds on any overpayments will be sent out shortly and all future invoices will not include VAT with the exception of UK companies with a booth at EFTTEX, they will be charged 20% VAT.”
