Tintti Drake, an enthusiastic angler for over 40 years, has a passion for promoting female recreational fishing. She serves as the project coordinator for the "Mimmit kalastaa!" initiative ("Gals Fishing"), created by the Finnish Federation for Recreational Fishing, which focuses on encouraging more women to engage in recreational fishing.
With an emphasis on low-threshold events and open communication, the project builds a supportive community that inspires women of all ages and skill levels to try and excel in fishing. Believing in the power of collaboration, it fosters connections between experienced and novice anglers, ensuring everyone feels welcome and empowered to learn. With the motto "Let’s get unreasonably excited about fishing!" and an approach inspired by the confidence of a four-year-old in a Batman suit, the project has cultivated a vibrant and active community among Finnish women.
