The revised Fisheries Control Regulation came into force on 9 January 2024.
As announced in our article from May 22, the new regulation stipulates that marine recreational fishers operating in EU territorial waters must register and declare their catch through a certified app starting in 2026. In a first step, this will only be required for certain species.
The according tender for the development of this electronic system has been published by the European Commission on 5 July 2024.
- The Commission expects receiving high quality bids with a total value of 1,130,000 EUR.
